About Us

Originally from Unionville, a small town in Northern Missouri, BJ moved to Springfield in 2004 and loves being a resident here. BJ received his Juris Doctor from St. Louis University and Master of Laws in Taxation from The University of Missouri – Kansas City.

BJ recently helped Cole and Heidi Hamels establish The Hamels Foundation, which provides relief to children orphaned by the AIDS epidemic in Africa. He has since been asked to serve on the Foundation’s Board of Directors and is currently Secretary and Treasurer of the Foundation. Richardson says that the Foundation’s efforts are “global in scope, but the results are felt by the local children so much in need of care.”

Richardson has had an impact on the Springfield community since his arrival in 2004. In this short period of time, he now owns, operates and manages The Law Offices of BJ Richardson, LLC. He was named one of the Springfield Business Journal’s “40 under 40,” became President of Springfield Business Connection (a chapter of Business Networking International), helped establish The Hamels Foundation, taught continuing education classes to local attorneys, taught undergraduate classes, and helped to organize several charitable events. His goal is to bring in a broad cross-section of the Springfield community to contribute and participate in charitable events.
